Generate harmonious colour palettes for websites, brands and designs. Start from a base colour and get coordinated combinations you can copy straight into your project.
Colour harmony follows rules from colour theory rather than guesswork. Complementary colours sit opposite each other on the colour wheel and create maximum contrast — good for call-to-action buttons. Analogous colours sit next to each other and feel calm and cohesive. Triadic schemes use three evenly spaced hues for vibrant but balanced designs. Monochromatic palettes vary only lightness and saturation of one hue, producing an elegant, professional look that's very hard to get wrong.
A practical approach many designers use is the 60-30-10 rule: 60% dominant colour (usually a neutral background), 30% secondary, 10% accent for buttons and highlights. Keep a palette to three to five colours; more than that usually looks chaotic rather than rich.
